開發源碼的Wine：多種作業系統上運行 Windows軟體
Wine是一個其他非windows系統運行windows軟體的平台，對於某些網友是很需要的，但大多數不會使用這個。美博園工具官方介紹引用如下：
Wine （｢Wine Is Not an Emulator｣ 的首字母縮寫）是一個能夠在多種 POSIX-compliant 作業系統（諸如 Linux，Mac OSX 及 BSD 等）上運行 Windows 應用的兼容層。 Wine 不是像虛擬機或者模擬器一樣模仿內部的 Windows 邏輯，而是將 Windows API 調用翻譯成為動態的 POSIX 調用，免除了性能和其他一些行為的記憶體佔用，讓你能夠乾淨地集合 Windows 應用到你的桌面。
Wine 項目由 Bob Amstadt 於 1993 年發起，旨在尋求一種在 Linux 上運行 Windows 3.1 程序的辦法。不久之後，Alexandre Julliard 開始接手領導 Wine 的開發，從此由他管理這個項目。 多年以來，隨著 Windows API 和應用為了適應新硬體及軟體而不斷演變，Wine 也一直不斷發展來支持新的特性，移植到更多其他系統，並且更加穩定，提供著更好的用戶體驗。
通過確立一個宏偉的目標，在2008年項目到達 v1.0 之前，Wine 一直穩健地持續了 15 年之久，那是第一個穩定版。 多個版本以後，雖然還有許多工作要做，但今天 Wine 仍然在活躍地開發著。 並且有大約數以百萬人計的人們使用 Wine 在他們所選擇的系統上運行 Windows 軟體。
開放原始碼和用戶驅動的
Wine 將會永遠是自由軟體。 大約一半的 Wine 代碼由志願者編寫，其餘部分由商業公司贊助。特別是 CodeWeavers，出售著一個 Wine 的支持版本。
